Mandatory Aadhaar Verification for IRCTC Tatkal Bookings Starts July 1, 2025
Starting July 1, 2025, IRCTC has made Aadhaar OTP verification mandatory for all users booking Tatkal train tickets on both the IRCTC website and IRCTC Rail Connect mobile app.
If your IRCTC account is not Aadhaar verified, you will not be able to book Tatkal tickets. This rule is being enforced to improve security and reduce misuse of Tatkal bookings.

How to Authenticate Aadhaar on IRCTC (Desktop Version):
Go to IRCTC Official Website
Login to your IRCTC account.
Click on “My Account” from the top menu.
Select “Authenticate User” from the dropdown.
Enter your Aadhaar number.
Enter the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
Submit to complete the verification.
How to Authenticate Aadhaar on IRCTC (Mobile Version):
Open the IRCTC Rail Connect App.
Log in with your user ID and password.
Tap on the menu (≡) and go to “My Account”.
Tap “Authenticate User”.
Enter your Aadhaar number and verify via OTP.
Done!
